The data we collect about you
Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data).

Identity Data includes first name, maiden name, last name, username or similar identifier, marital status, title, date of birth and gender.
Contact Data includes billing address, delivery address, email address and telephone numbers.
Financial Data includes bank account and payment card details.We will also keep a record of any financial transactions you make with us but we do not directly collect, process or store your credit or debit card information.
Transaction Data includes details about payments to and from you and other details of products and services you have purchased from us.

Who has access to your information?

How do we protect your information?

How long will we keep your data?
We’re subject to regulatory requirements to retain your data for specified minimum periods. These are, generally:

- Three years for mortgage business
- Indefinitely for pension transfers and opt-out business
- Three years for insurance business
These are minimum periods, during which we have a legal obligation to retain your records.
We reserve the right to retain data for longer where we believe it’s in our legitimate interests to do so. In any case, we’ll not keep your personal data for longer than seven years after our relationship with you has ended, with the exception of pension transfer business which will be held indefinitely.
Accessing and updating your details

Transferring your information outside of Europe
Some of our external third parties are based outside the European Economic Area (EEA) so their processing of your personal data will involve a transfer of data outside the EEA.

No fee usually required
